Art & Cooking Classes
Our creative arts and culinary program combines expressive activities and hands-on cooking experiences to promote relaxation, self-expression, and joy. These classes offer a playful yet therapeutic approach to reducing stress and accessing the parasympathetic state through creative engagement and mindful food preparation.

How does it work?
Creative activities and cooking engage different neural pathways than those activated during stress, naturally shifting the nervous system into a more relaxed state.
By focusing on the present moment through artistic expression or culinary creation, participants enter a meditative state that promotes relaxation and emotional release.
These classes provide a safe space for self-expression while teaching practical skills, helping to release perfectionism and cultivate mindfulness through hands-on activities like salsa making, traditional chocolate preparation, and artistic projects.

Backed by science
Research in art therapy and culinary medicine has demonstrated significant benefits of creative engagement.
Studies published in the Journal of Art Therapy show that creative activities reduce cortisol levels by up to 75% after just 45 minutes of participation.
Culinary research has shown that mindful cooking practices increase positive emotions and decrease anxiety.
Additional studies have documented how engaging in creative activities activates the default mode network in the brain, promoting emotional processing and stress reduction.

Benefits of of Art & Cooking Classes
These creative sessions have shown promise in:
- Reduced stress and anxiety
- Enhanced emotional expression
- Improved mindfulness
- Better stress management
- Increased joy and pleasure
- Enhanced social connection
- Developed practical life skills
- Boosted confidence and self-expression
Integration with other modalities
Art & Cooking Classes is most effective when combined with other approaches to nervous system regulation. We integrate neurofeedback with various other modalities to create a comprehensive approach to mental and physical wellbeing.

Sympathetic Dominance Protocol
A psychosomatic stress reduction method that combines various modalities to identify and remove emotional blocks that express as physical symptoms.

PEMF & Infrared
Muscle relaxation, improved circulation and ion transportation to stimulate the body's natural recovery process.

Photobiomodulation
Red light and Near Infrared Light of specific wavelengths interact with the mitochondria to boost ATP production (more energy).

Cold Thermogenesis
Nervous system regulation training and helps to reduce inflammation, boost metabolism and improve immune function.

Gut Healing Protocol
Reduce harmful bacteria and parasites, heal the gut lining and encourage growth of beneficial bacteria to boost the immune system and gut-brain connection.

Anti-Inflammatory Diet
A diet and supplement protocol designed to reduce inflammation, reverse deficiencies and boost neurotransmitter production.

Heart Rate Variability Training
Up-train the parasympathetic state to lower the baseline of stress, reduce overwhelm and enhance recovery and emotional regulation.

Bodywork
Boost parasympathetic response, reduce tension, improve circulation and lymphatic drainage.

Art & Cooking Classes
Encouraging creativity, authenticity and play. Classes include painting, macrame, chocolate-making and a Mexican cooking class.

Breathwork
Breathwork can elicit the parasympathetic nervous system response and, in some cases, euphoric or insightful experiences.

Drop-in therapy
Bite-sized sessions with a certified mental health professional to practice emotional processing as the opportunities arise.

Functional Movement
With resistance to improve muscle tone and coordination, mitochondrial function and neurotransmitter production.

Nature therapy
The healing effects of nature; grounding and negative ions from waterfalls, beaches, jungle with low-impact, endurance exercise.

QEEG & Neurofeedback
Brain mapping to measure and assess electrical activity, followed by directed Neurofeedback to improve brain function.

Trauma Release Exercises (TRE)
Restore the body's natural mechanism for releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension, and trauma.

YOGA & Working-in
Integrate mind, body and energy, improve mood, reduce stress and build strength, flexibility and balance.

Compression Suit
To improve circulation and lymphatic drainage to get rid of cellular waste and enhance regeneration.

Temazcal
An ancient Mesoamerican ritual using heat, steam, herbs and chanting for purification of the mind and body.
