 Location and Transportation

HOW FAR IS THE CENTER FROM THE AIRPORT?

About 70 minutes by car. 

DO YOU INCLUDE FREE AIRPORT TRANSFERS?

Yes, please note the time for the 5 day intensive and the 10/15/21 day.

5 day intensive

We have an airport shuttle that will leave PVR airport at 1 PM* on your arrival day and leave the center at 12:00 PM* on your departure day.

*Beginning April 6th, the shuttle times are changing for 5 Day retreats. If your 5 day retreat begins April 6th or later, the airport shuttle will leave PVR airport at 3 PM on your arrival day and leave the center at 11:00 AM on your departure day.

10/15/21 day

We have an airport shuttle that will leave PVR airport at 3:30PM on your arrival day and leave the center at 10:00 AM on your departure day.

WHAT IS THE BEST TIME FOR FLIGHTS TO ARRIVE/DEPART FROM PVR?

5 day intensive

Our free airport transfer leaves PVR airport at 1 PM on arrival day and leaves the retreat villa at 12:00 PM on departure day. Flights that arrive around noon are ideal as are flights that depart around 4:30 PM are ideal.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I CAN’T MAKE THE AIRPORT SHUTTLE?

We can help you set up private transport for $85 USD each way.  

DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR TRANSPORTATION TO THE ADVENTURES YOU INCLUDE IN THE RETREAT?

No, all transportation for scheduled activities is included. 

HOW ABOUT IF I BOOK A TOUR OR ACTIVITY? 

Then yes, you have to organize and pay for your own transportation.

IS THE AREA SAFE?

The retreat takes place on a gated property 15 minutes from Sayulita with security. The Bay of Banderas is recognized as one of the safest places in Mexico, it receives 8 million visitors, mostly from the US and Canada, who visit every year and a huge expat community that prefer to live here.

WHAT IS THE LOCATION LIKE?

The retreat is located 15 minutes south of Sayulita - a colorful surf town. The area immediately surrounding the retreat property is tranquil with lush jungle and virgin beaches. Winding jungle paths provide a beautiful walk to town, where you can explore the sweet stores and cafes or watch the surfers. The property overlooks the Pacific Ocean, the bay of Sayulita and the Sierra Madre mountains.

Check-in and Check-out

WHEN IS CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT? 

5 day intensive

Check-in is 2 PM. Check-out is 12 PM.*

*Beginning April 6th, the check-in and check-out times are changing for 5 Day retreats. If your 5 day retreat begins April 6th or later, check-in is 3 PM and check-out is 11 AM.

10/15/21 day

Check-in is 3 PM. Check-out is 11 AM.

MY FLIGHT ARRIVES LATE AT NIGHT. CAN I STILL CHECK IN?

You can check in up until 8 pm. 

MY FLIGHT DOESN'T LEAVE UNTIL THE EVENING. CAN I HAVE LATE CHECK-OUT?

Let us know and we will see what we can do.

CAN I CHECK-IN/OUT A DAY EARLIER/LATER?

We are not able to accommodate guests outside of the retreat dates.

 

Schedule and Activities

WHAT TIME DO ACTIVITIES BEGIN ON ARRIVAL DAY?

5 day intensive

On arrival day there will be a welcome and introductions at 3 PM and at 3:30 PM Introduction to the nervous system workshop.*

*Beginning April 6th, the activity times are changing for 5 Day retreats. If your 5 day retreat begins April 6th or later, there will be a welcome and introductions at 4:30 PM and at 5:30 PM Introduction to the Nervous System workshop.

10/15/21 day

On arrival day there will be an introduction and welcome dinner starting at 6 PM.

IS THE SCHEDULE FIXED?

Yes, we have a fixed schedule that is different for each guest. You will be provided with your schedule upon arrival. If you need to move individual therapy times, you are welcome to exchange sessions with other guests.

CAN I LEAVE THE CENTER?

Yes, you can. There is free time built into the schedule so that you can explore outside of the center and do additional activities (which we can help you to plan). We highly encourage guests to focus on the program rather than other activities. We include adventures off-site in the program. We do not provide transportation for solo activities off-site.

WHAT ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES CAN I DO?

There is an abundance of activities available some examples include; ziplining, scuba diving, swim with wild dolphins, horseback riding and spa days. Just ask us.

Food and Beverage

IS ALCOHOL PERMITTED? 

For your safety, we have a zero drug and alcohol tolerance policy. Use of alcohol or drugs on-site or off-site is grounds for removal from the retreat.

I LIKE TO EAT MEAT. DO YOU HAVE SOMETHING FOR ME? 

Yes, our menu was designed by a Functional Nutritionist to be balanced in protein, fat, carbs, vitamins and minerals, which includes animal protein. It is based on a Paleo style diet.

I AM VEGAN/VEGETARIAN/HAVE ALLERGIES OR INTOLERANCES, CAN THE MENU BE ADAPTED?

Our program isn’t ideally suited for vegans and vegetarians because we rule out a lot of inflammatory and gut-irritating foods which then makes a vegan or vegetarian diet too restrictive. We can’t create personalized meal plans for guests. All food is served buffet style so guests can pick and choose what they want.

ARE THERE BUGS AND MOSQUITOES? 

Mosquitos and bugs are manageable most of the year with a peak in July through October. We do the best we can to reduce the impact of bugs naturally. NOTE: the property is in the jungle so there is wildlife and many insects in the area. Nothing is dangerous except one species of scorpion - we rarely have issues with scorpions but we advise all guest to take precautions when putting on shoes and to shake out towels, blankets and cushions.

 

Beaches

HOW FAR AWAY IS THE BEACH?

There are two beautiful quiet beaches 10 minutes and 25 minutes walking distance from the villa. Note: the villa is on a hill which gives us beautiful 360 degree views but means that there is an uphill walk from the beach. We can help with rides. IS THE OCEAN WARM ENOUGH TO SWIM? 

Yes. The water is usually low 70s in the winer and mid-80s in the summer.

IS THE BEACH SANDY OR ROCKY?

Both. There are stunning rock formations among sandy beaches and turquoise water. The current can be strong and there are no lifeguards so caution is advised.

IS THERE SURF?

Yes, you are in the best part of the bay for surf. There are an abundance of surf spots nearby with board rental available. Find out more here: https://www.wildmex.com

Internet and Communication

DO YOU PROVIDE WIFI?

Yes, we have good wifi throughout the property. Please note that we are in the jungle so there can be outages but it is generally reliable and fast. We encourage everyone to disconnect as much as possible.

CAN I GET CELL RECEPTION? 

Yes, in certain parts of the property.

I WON'T BE BRINGING MY CELL. CAN I CALL US/CANADA FROM THE VILLA? IS THERE A COST? 

Yes. We can help you call home.

CAN I USE MY CELL PHONE ON THE RETREAT?

Yes, you can but we encourage guests to use their phones as little as possible to truly disconnect and immerse in the program.

CAN I WORK ON THE RETREAT?

Yes, you can but we encourage guests to work as little as possible to truly disconnect and immerse in the program.  

Misc.

CAN I DO LAUNDRY ON THE RETREAT?

Yes, there are washers and dryers - our cleaning staff can help you.   

IS COVID TESTING AVAILABLE?

We provide the option to do PCR and Antigen tests on-site before departure. PCR test US$150 and antigen US$45. Antigen tests can be done before boarding your flight at the airport, they cost $25 and results are delivered within 45 mins.

IS A COVID VACCINE REQUIRED TO ENTER MEXICO?

No

DO I NEED TO QUARANTINE WHEN I ARRIVE IN MEXICO?

No

DO I NEED PROOF OF VACCINATION OR A NEGATIVE COVID TEST TO ATTEND THE RETREAT?

No

IS THIS PROGRAM SUITABLE FOR ME?

Our programs focus on nervous system regulation which can be helpful for depression and anxiety. We can’t guarantee any particular outcome, we are not a medical nor mental health clinic. I NEED TO SCHEDULE MEETINGS DURING THE PROGRAM, CAN I GET MY RETREAT SCHEDULE AHEAD OF TIME?

Yes, we can provide you with your schedule. We reconfirm all activities shortly before the retreat start date so there could be some changes to the line-up.

IS THE SCHEDULE FLEXIBLE?

Our schedule is fixed and it is a progressive program that produces the best results when completed fully. If you need to move individual therapy times, you are welcome to exchange sessions with other guests but all group activities are at fixed times.

CAN I ADD MORE OF A PARTICULAR MODALITY?

CAN I EXTEND TO A MONTH?

Our programs run on set dates, we do not have the option of a month stay.

CAN I BRING MY DOG/PET?

Sadly, we can't allow outside dogs or pets on our retreats. We love animals and many of the staff bring their dogs to work with them - we even have one dog, Nutella, that lives onsite. So, you’ll have lots of access to animal love while you’re here.

DO YOU WORK WITH INSURANCE?

We do not work directly with insurance. Some guests have recouped partial cost of their retreat through their insurance provider. We can provide a receipt.

Reservations, Cancellations and Payments

WHAT HAPPENS IF I NEED TO CANCEL? 

We have a no refund policy but if we have a waiting list and find someone interested in taking your place, we can exchange your place to another retreat. For this reason we highly encourage the purchase of trip protection.
