FAQ

  • The Rēset programs provide education and immersive experiences focussed on nervous system regulation to unwind the chronic stress state. The goal is to better understand how the brain and body work to create more coherence between them rather than resistance.

    By getting out of the sympathetic nervous system state (fight/flight/freeze/fawn) and into the parasympathetic nervous system state (relaxation/digestion/healing), safety is created in the body, defence mechanisms drop and it is possible to work on reprogramming the neural connections that are no longer helpful.

    Through various modalities, the programs address the physical, mental, emotional, nutritional and existential factors that activate the sympathetic nervous system and can lead to chronic activation of the stress response. It is important to address all factors, we found most programs only address one or two which is why we created the Rēset.

  • The nervous system is the connection between the mind and body. When it is dysregulated (due to previous life experiences), our sleep, hormones, digestion, cognitive function, reactivity, performance and more are affected. We can’t separate mind and body, in fact trying to separate the mind from the body and even separating each of the parts of the body from each other led to a lot of frustration with the current medical system and the impetus for starting this program.

    Common symptoms of nervous system dysregulation include: insomnia, bloating, constipation, anxiety, depression, brain fog, muscle tension, hormonal imbalance, difficulty relaxing, feeling numb.

  • We run programs just south of Sayulita, Mexico and in Oliveria do Hospital, Portugal.

  • There is a direct connection between gut health and mental health. The gut and brain are connected via the vagus nerve so it is a two way street. High levels of stress can affect gut function and an impaired gut can affect brain function. We provide a three phase Gut Rēset to eliminate pathogenic bacteria and parasites, repair the gut lining and feed/repopulate with beneficial bacteria. Read more here.

  • Our main demographic is burnout professionals but we have guests of all ages (18+) and backgrounds. Most join the program because they don't feel that they are living their full potential due to physical symptoms, stress caused by life events or lack of direction.

  • Yes, you can. The physical component of the program is a minor part, classes can be modified to a certain point. Even if it not possible to participate in the more physical activities, there is a lot to be gained from the workshops and everything else included in the program.

  • The 5 day program provides an introduction to tools for nervous system regulation. It is a more intensive program that flows from unwinding the stress response with workshops on Sympathetic Dominance, unwinding exercises, Heart Rate Variability Training, TRE, Working-In and massage to activation with Cold Thermogenesis and Temazcal to put the learning into action to regulate the nervous system in uncomfortable environments. Then expansion with Breathwork followed by integration and processing emotions that come up. Plus an introduction to our food principals, gut health for mental health and Neurofeedback. Ideal for those that can't take much time. The 5 day program serves as a starting point for long term positive change. We still hear from guests that had transformational experiences in that short timeframe.

    The 10 day program follows a similar flow as the 5 day program but with the luxury of more time to delve deeper into all themes with more reinforcement of positive habits. All of the same modalities and workshops are included in the 10 day program with the addition of;
    - QEEG brain map to create a tailored three session Neurofeedback protocol focussed on Neuromeditation
    - Daily movement, resistance training, movement for Neuroperformance
    - A beach hiking adventure
    - Additional workshops
    - Compression suit session
    - Optional talk therapy sessions to process
    - Catamaran cruise to finish of the retreat
